This year, the AGDA Victoria Student Council presents First Five Out – For Love or Money. It’s a familiar event, with a new theme.
In its sixth year running, the event is hosted yearly by the Student Council and asks a variety of speakers to share their stories, experiences, tips, triumphs and blunders. The speakers come from all walks of the design industry and are usually in their first five years out of tertiary or further education.

The theme this year asks designers about their ‘Money Jobs’ and ‘Love Jobs’. How and what do designers do alongside their 9-5 job? How do they breathe new life into their jobs? Give meaning to projects accepted purely for the money? The most random thing that has triggered a creative idea? The first thing they do on payday. A cheap yet effective way of self-promotion. What they do when they are not at work. What funds their ‘Love Jobs’…
The speakers will be addressing these topics (and others) alongside a short open forum question-answer session.
After years of sell-out events, First Five Out proves to again, be a wealth of knowledge and this year with a new spin. For Love or Money? – that is the question.
